Free Printable Valentine Cupcake Picks Toppers Template

These free printable valentine heart cupcake picks toppers are really versatile. They come in two designs: a modern swirl and small polka dots; and two colors: magenta and red. They can be made as flat hearts on regular toothpicks or on larger cocktail picks. They can also be made as three dimensional toppers by just folding them in half and gluing them back-to-back. That part brings even more versatility, because you can mix and match the polka dots with the swirls. And to make even more variations, you can use a variety of ribbons tied around the toothpicks beneath the hearts to dress them up!

To give you an idea of the size of these party and cupcake picks toppers, I used mini cupcakes and decorated large marshmallows to display them in the photographs. I got the mini cupcakes from Whole Foods and I created the decorated marshmallows by using cookie icing (it dries harder and more solid than cake icing) and some cute valentine nonpariels I bought from Target. I also bought a spool of Valentine’s Day ribbon from Target. It contains just enough of each ribbon design to decorate two picks.

Here are some tips for making these valentine heart toppers:

  • Print the template, which can be downloaded below, using the heaviest card stock your printer will allow. I usually use matte card stock to make toppers but this time I used glossy. I liked the effect it gave, since these topper designs are modern.
  • For best results, use sharp, curved manicure scissors to cut out the hearts.
  • To make the 3D toppers, use a repositionable glue stick to stick the hearts together. Just fold the first of six hearts carefully (printed side in) and once it’s perfectly in half, score it with your fingernail to make a crease down the middle. Then, glue the first two pieces together and do the same with the two other sets. Let these dry, because repositionable glue takes a while to set. When these are dry, you can glue them together, leaving one panel open so you can insert the toothpick. Once you do, run a line of regular glue down the center, so the toothpick won’t slip out later. When that’s completed you can glue the last piece in place.

Free Printable New Years Eve Decorations: Cupcake Toppers

New Years Eve party cupcake topper decorations

This free printable New Years Eve decoration template can be used as cupcake toppers, envelope seals, banners (when strung together with ribbon or beading cord) or lots of other uses. As you can see, I used them on cupcakes. The cupcakes are miniature-sized, so they make the 2″ toppers look bigger than they would on normal or large sized cupcakes.

These New Year party circles feature bright pink and yellow-orange polka dots and a celebratory mouse in a bow tie and top hat. There are three versions of the same design in this template: “Happy New Year!, “Welcome 2012!” and ”Welcome 2013!” By including 2013, I’m giving this template a little longer shelf life. But it can be used even beyond then, since six of the 12 images don’t incorporate the year.

I used my Marvy Uchida 2″ cutter to cut these out. Then, I glued the toppers to toothpicks. You can also use repositionable glue stick or double-sided tape if you want the toppers to be two-sided. Just apply the tape or glue to the back of one topper and back it with another, line them up perfectly and press firmly all around for even adhesion. You can also use Avery’s full sheet label stock, which will allow you to turn these into stickers. The stock runs through your inkjet printer just like paper. They also make a laser printer version.

Free Printable Hanukkah Decorations: Cupcake Toppers

free Hanukkah cupcake toppers

Click on the free printable Hanukkah decorations template below to enlarge and download it.

I’ve been looking for good commercial use Chanukah images for years and I finally found these cute ones by Americo. I love the cheerful, playful dreidels and the colorful dancing, singing candles on the menorah. They look like they’re having a good time, so they really convey the joy that’s inherent in Hanukkah’s Festival of Lights. You can’t see the traditional nun, gimel, he, and shin Hebrew letters that traditionally appear on the sides of the dreidel, but we don’t need to be that serious!

As I always do for my cupcake toppers (or party circles, if you prefer to call them that), I used my Marvy Uchida 2″ cutter to cut these out. Then, I glued them to toothpicks. (Please note that I’ve photographed these 2″ cupcake toppers on mini-cupcakes, so that will give you an idea of their scale.) You can also use double-sided tape or glue stick if you want the toppers to have two sides. Just apply the tape or glue to the back of one topper and back it with another, pressing it firmly all around for even adhesion.

If you want to use them for other types of Hanukkah decorations, you can punch small holes in the sides of each one and either string them together by threading beading cord or the equivalent, or by tying ribbon bows between each one. You can also use these as colorful seals for treat bags or Hanukkah card envelopes. Avery makes great full sheet label stock, which you can use to create the stickers. It runs through your inkjet printer just like card stock or paper. They also make it for laser printers.

These cute Christmas cupcake toppers come in three red and green designs to dress up your Christmas cupcakes: a snowman, Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. The cartoon holiday characters are rendered in a felt look and have what looks like hand-stitching around them, so they look homemade.

The best way to make these holiday cupcake toppers is to print them on the heaviest card stock your printer will allow and then cut them with a 2″ circle cutter. I personally like the Marvy Uchida 2″ cutter, because it’s easy to use, but you can use any cutter you’re comfortable with. You can also cut them with scissors. It just depends how much time you want to spend cutting toppers for your Christmas cupcakes!

Free Printable Princess Birthday Cupcake Toppers

I wish these girly girl princess birthday cupcake toppers had been around when I was a little girl! I would have loved them, because they’re so pink and princess-y. Whenever the kids in the neighborhood played dress-up or make believe, I always had to be the princess. So much so that my father built a huge wooden chest and put it on our patio to hold all my princess dresses and accoutrement. Now I’m just a princess in my head, but I still like pink and anything princess-related!

As with my Halloween cupcake toppers, the cute illustrations in these cupcake topper designs come from the talented Lisa Craig-Mullins. They include six princess-theme designs: a royal carriage, a castle, a birthday cake topped by a crown, two different princess images (one brunette, one blond*) and a frog carrying a scepter who’s just waiting to receive the kiss that will turn him into a handsome prince. As with all our cupcake toppers, these can also be used as coasters, table scatters, hanging decorations and more.

* My apologies that there aren’t African American or Asian versions of princesses in these cupcake toppers. I would love nothing more, but there weren’t any of those type of images available. But I provided four other images that don’t reflect ethnicity, so anyone can use and enjoy them.

Free Thanksgiving Printables: Cupcake Toppers

These cute free Thanksgiving printables are the perfect way to quickly and easily dress up Thanksgiving cupcakes. If you’re cooking Thanksgiving dinner, you know you’re going to be busy. These ready-to-make cupcake toppers can save time on Thanksgiving day, because they can be made way in advance. So all you have to do is just pop them into cupcakes at the last minute. If you’re really smart, you’ll get one of your guests to bring the cupcakes, to make it even easier on you!

The toppers feature whimsical pilgrims bearing Thanksgiving dinner items, and a turkey wearing a pilgrim hat, collar and shoes (obviously he doesn’t know what’s coming, so he’s dressed in solidarity with his future cook). They both sit on plaid backgrounds with a lacy and homey looking border.

To make these, you can use a Cricut or other cutting machine, or a simple 2″ hand punch. I use a Marvy Uchida 2-inch circle cutter for all my projects and find it works quite nicely. You can also cut them by hand, but just be aware that it will take a while.
