This free template was designed for Valentine’s Day but it can actually be used year-round for any occasion you want to give a loved one a gift that can’t be bought — you. Just print the certificate and fill in the blanks as pictured to the right, and you’ll have a wonderful gift for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries or any old time. It makes a great way to say “I’m sorry” after a fight too.
The pink hearts on this design make it nice for Valentine’s Day, but they’re tempered by a whimsical dotted gray border that’s generic enough for year-round use. To print, just pop the artwork into MSWord, Open Office or another word processing program, or into a graphics program and make it whatever size you want. You can place multiple pieces of art on a page if you plan to give more than one of these. Once they’re printed, your best bet is to use a paper cutter, or a craft knife, cutting board and straight edge. I wouldn’t recommend using regular scissors, but scissors with wavy, zigzag or other edges might create a nice touch. You can leave a white border around the coupon or just cut right at the edge of the pink hearts background.
If you’re looking for a coupon specifically for Valentine’s Day, try my dated valentine love certificates. They come in 8 1/2″ x 11″ format and are updated each year.
Credits: Thanks to DeliciousScraps.com for the dotted border image and KevinandAmanda.com for the “Lima Bean” font. The pink hearts background is my own creation and is available for downloading here.
